What a great giveaway!

I grew up in NY and now live in Idaho but the one thing that I LOVED and miss about it is the different cultures, the diversity of people walking up and down the city blocks and with that all the wonderful food. The Cultural diversity is what NYC is about. I'm so glad you had a chance to visit!

This is so much fun! What great fabric, and I love the plate :)

Those are all such lovely treasures!!! I enjoyed watching you on TV!!! Wish I could have been there!

Love a good giveaway...and this is a GOOD giveaway. Never been to NY...would love to try a Gray's Papaya Hot Dog! Thanks for your generosity...

Lisa of Salvage Studio

I have been to New York one time, and I got to go to the Hable Construction sample sale, Purl Soho, and then on to a quilting workshop at Denyse Schmidt's studio. It was a dream trip! I live in a small town in the middle of Missouri, so this trip was a big deal to me! The next time I go, I want to go to M&J Trimmings, among other places. Fishs Eddy looks very interesting.

Wow! I'd love to hit New York myself. Thanks for your generosity!

Please enter me in your wonderful giveaway, what great goodies!

I grew up in NJ, and my dad worked in NYC - we would go into The City often. We would eat at the Princeton Club and go to a Broadway show. I moved west 40 years ago, and when my daughter went off to college in NY we would visit and it brought it all back....went to Fishs Eddy on one of those visits and bought a soup mug with the NYC skyline on it. Love ALL those stores you mentioned, and loved watching you on the morning show!
At home in CDA now....

I have never commented before, but I'm here all the time. I found my way over from The Homespun Heart.
I would love to be entered in the giveaway!
Bonnie

I have never been to NY but would love to go. I am the only member of my family that hasn't been. Everyone has been on school trips with band and my husband chaperoned...twice. He has promised me a trip after our daughter's wedding and I am holding him to it. I would definitely go to Purl Soho...they mentioned it on Martha Stewart a couple of days ago! I would want to visit all of the fabric shops especially Mood...of Project Runway fame! Of course I would take in several shows and eat at some of the fabulous restaurants. I can't wait to get there! Thanks for the opportunity to enter your giveaway!

Teri and Serena,

Hi! I've enjoyed your site so much since I discovered it a month or so ago and never had the nerve to comment. Feeling alittle unworthy, untalented, and uncreative! But, reading about this contest I couldn't help but reply ...

In September of 2000, I visited New York City with a friend. The only thing about the trip that was planned was the flights and hotel. The rest was just flying by the seat of our pants. We started Saturday morning with hopping a bus then the subway through Manhatten and stepping off the World Trade Center stop. Having never been to New York before, I had no idea how huge the WTC was until we got outside. We walked to Battery where we hopped on a ferry out to the Statue of Liberty.

I could go on and on about how cool it was to see the statue ... how we saw Michelle Pfeiffer at FAO Schwartz, walked through the streets of SoHo, visited Macy's, and the double decker bus tour (did I mention we did all of this in a day?) I could talk about all of that being memorable, but truly the most memorable thing about that trip to me was riding back to Battery Park on the ferry at 9am Saturday morning. The perfect September weather. The sound of the water splashing against the ferry and light Jazz playing on the ferry drivers radio. I've never in my life seen anything as magical as the New York City skyline with the amazing World Trade Center buildings standing tall. I honestly think that during that ferry ride God tapped me on the shoulder and "shhh ... look at THIS!"

That experience was only magnified after September 11, 2001. I wish I could attach the photograph that I took of the skyline right at that moment and share with you.

Sorry, I'm a babbler ..Thanks for letting me share ...

I loved going to the Museum of Modern Art and seeing the painting Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. Also loved hearing all the different languages spoken on the street.
Cindi in MO

It all looks beautiful!

I've never been to New York before (Chicago is my big city). :)

Ooooo...I love a giveaway. I've only been to New York twice but my favorites are ABC Carpet & Home, Metalliferous, Kate's Paperie, and the Staten Island ferry! I'd love to go back and spend more time...I know there is so much more to see. It was awesome seeing you on CBS...thanks for sharing your trip with us! xo Joan

I've been to New York, both for a 3 day celebration with my Mom for her 60th birthday and my 40th birthday combined together. And then again when my daughter turned 21. I love so many things about NY but Central Park has to be one of my favorite places to visit there! Also love the Christmas Spectacular, I cried when the curtain went up because I was so excited! LOL

I've never been to NYC. I would love to go to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade someday or anytime during the Christmas season.

Way Cool Giveaway!
Going Down Memory Lane with Mr. Souers on this one! "Young and Dumb in College" Traveled to NY on the "How Many Baseball Stadiums Can We Hit Before We Grow Up And Have Families" with our college friends... Yankee Stadium, "wandered around the Bronx" not knowing "it was dangerous", LOVED the Statue of Liberty...in total awe of her beauty..... barely hit the sites and then to Fenway...

If I ever got to go to NY I would hit Broadway every chance I got. I would get tickets to all the shows possible and visit the St. of Liberty every day.

You have one of the best blogs on the block! I've never been to NY so I'd love the treasures you brought back! How generous of you to offer such a nice giveaway!

Never, ever been-want to though. Ellis Island is my destination of choice and the Statue of Liberty of course.

I love your blog. Please enter me in the giveaway.

God Bless!

Pick me! Pick me! Love all the goodies!

I would love to visit the cooking supply stores! I've never been to New York, but maybe someday I can. Love those trims, too!

I've never been to New York City but if I ever have the chance to visit I would want to: Ride in a horse drawn buggy through Central Park, Have a frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity 3, ice skate in Rockefeller Center and visit the Today show!

I've been to New York once and loved everything about it! Lion King on Broadway, Tavern on the Green, Ellis Island, the Grey Line, $10 "Rolex" watches, and my absolute favorite, Tender Buttons.

Your give away is very generous! Such lovely items! Would love to visit NY during the Christmas holiday season.

Please enter my name in your give away. Thank you!

Please enter me in your giveaway! Love your site!

Yay for a giveaway!
I've been to New York a couple of times and besides all the awesome sites, I love the little children's bookstore, Books of Wonder, which is connected to an adorable cupcake shop, Cupcake Cafe. So fun! The bookstore reminded me of You've Got Mail's The Shop Around the Corner. I loved Purl Soho and Mary Poppins on Broadway, too! I will have to put Fishs Eddy on my list for next time!
-Hayley

I love your site, almost as much as I {heart} NY! I've been to NY several times, always on "business." But, amazingly I always found time to shop, go for long walks, and enjoy a flea market or two. But hands down, my favorite NY experience was taking my husband there on his first trip to NY--showing him the sites, the tastes, and the (yuck!) smells of the city. To top it off, a couple of NY Yankees games made the trip perfect.

I have never been to NY but would love to go. I would love to go to Rockefeller Center, the Plaza Hotel, Dylan's Candy Bar and many, many more places. Thanks for the great giveaway~

Please enter me in the drawing too. I dream of going to New York one day. Thanks for sharing your adventure.

Love it!!! Please enter me.

I haven't been to New York in 30 years but would love to go back. Can't decide if I would like to go in the summer for all the wonderful flea markets or Christmas time to see the magic. One day...

Hi girls! I loved getting your updates from Manhattan. I have been there twice and my favorite things were going to Ellis Island and seeing Chicago on Broadway.

I've been to New York once and loved it. Such neat stuff.

In 1987 I went on a trip to the East Coast with my Mom and sister and remember getting turned around on the New Jersey Turnpike!!!We didn't make it into New York, but we did take a ferry ride and I have pictures of the Twin Towers on a clear blue day..So beautiful! My girlfriend and I talked about going to New York for our 50th birthdays this year, but time is running out. I would love to go to a broadway show and shop and see the memorials. Thank you for such a great blog. Also love your cookbook. Your trip looked like a blast.

Hi Teri & Serena,
It looks like you had a great time in NYC. I've only been once - more than 20 years ago! I went with my best friend - two small town girls and we arrived at night - we were so scared to leave our hotel room in the big city :) But we did - and wandered around Manhattan in freezing weather in the middle of the night. I loved the funky little shops in Greenwich Village and the Empire State Building. I'll never forget that trip.

Nice treasures. thanks-

Never been, but would love to go and see the craft stores, Ellis Island, Satute of Liberty.

Oh my! What great stuff! and in the Big city!!! I know you had fun!

I have never been to New York and frankly never see myself getting the opportunity to visit.
So, I just lived vicariously through your pictures.

Thanks so much for thinking of each of us during your trip.

You gals are just the best!

What a wonderful giveaway! Me WANT goodies!!<(and that was said in my best Cookie Monster voice).
I have never been to NY, but I would certainly want to visit the 911 memorials and of course The Statue of Liberty. Thanks for the giveaway and good luck to all who enter!

I have never been to NY, in fact I have only been to Seattle 1 time. Would love to go and take in all the sights and small little shops. Sounds like you have a wonderful time!

I'm clicking my heels three times and closing my eyes...yes...I see it! I'm in New York at my favorite places such as Kate's Paperie and Katz' Deli...and let's not leave out my 1am visit to have a frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity!! mmmm...oh dear..I must use my napkin and clear the whip cream dripping on my chin...
Thank you for sharing your trip....what a fun reminder for me! Shari

Wow - what fun this trip must have been - and so generous to offer a piece of it to your blog readers!!! Thanks for the opportunity!

oh...i wish i could have been there too!

How exciting:). I've been to New York before but my husband just loves being able to see he was there.

So what we did was go out of our way on a vacation to New Jersey and drove down the highway past the backside of the Statue of Liberty! We didn't stop or look at anything--we just drove past her backside.

I was not amused;0!

I'd love to win so I have fonder memories of NYC;)!

Wow, what a fun and generous giveaway!! I would love to enter; and yes, I have been to New York City a few years ago. It was a quick trip, but the one thing that stands out in my mind was when my husband bought my youngest daughter an American Girl doll at the American Girl Place. It was early in the day, and so we carried that doll around the entire city with us. She even made it to the top of the Empire State Building.

Yay... a give-away! I've always, always, always wanted to go to NYC!! I'd especially like to go during Christmas ever since seeing the movie Home Alone. When the little boy was wandering around Rockefeller Center... the Christmas lights were just so beautiful. I live in Texas so I think it would be so different in New York. The "country girl" going to the Big City :O)

yeah how fun for you guys and what a fun giveaway!!

Oh my goodness...what a SUPER fun giveaway!! Thanks so much for thinking of us ;)

Katie

I heart New York. I live in Spokane now, but have visited there many times. Had an aunt who lived in the Bronx and we visited her there. What I love about NY is the people watching. It truly is a melting pot. The city that never sleeps. There is something for everyone in NY. Thank you for the wonderful finds. Lea

what a bunch of wondeful goodies...i have never been to new york so i would love to see the touristy things...central park, the statue of liberty, times square. but i think the place i would most like to visit is ellis island...both of my mother's parents were required to enter the country through ellis island so it holds some family history for me

Oh, it's all so cute, yummy, gorgeous!!!!!

Pick me! Pick me!

I have never been to NY, but would love to! My husband has no interest in the east whatsoever, (we live out west) but maybe someday I'll make it with my daughters. We would all love to go to the Macy's Thanksgiving parade, JUST ONCE, in our lifetime. Love your blog, and thank you so much for thinking of your fans!

Wow! 75 comments-sheesh!

I have never been to New York-but would love to go-I would want to see a little bit of everything that I could fit into my schedule!

I hope I win-keeping my fingers crossed!

Ness

Its my DREAM to go to NYC! My first order of business would be a famous cupcake shop there!
Hope I win!! :)

I have never been to NY and haven't had a huge desire to, until I clicked on the links to Fishs Eddy and the trim shop. Oh my! Two stores I could spend a lot of time and money in. What fun shops! And such a generous giveaway.

I have never been to NY, but someday want to take the time and drive there! Yes, drive!!
I love this giveaway, everything is so cute, I would share it all with my daughters!
Stephanie

I can't wait to visit NY. I live in Europe and plan to go when i turn 40. I want to go to Greenwich Village, Statue of Liberty and stay (one night) at the Waldorf Astoria.
Only 2 years to wait!

I love trims and buttons. And I love UNIQUE ones all the better. I bet New York was a blast. One of these days...one of these days...

Never been to new york but would love to go.

I'd have to go to Tiffany's. Breakfast at Tiffany's is one of my favorite movies.

What lovely things! Sending well wishes to you both and I love your blog dearly!

Thanks!
kali

What a fun trip.....envious!

Please count me in! Those are just the type of souvenirs I would have purchased, had I been there!

It sounds like you two had one great trip! Thanks for the generous giveaway...please count me in!

I went with my husband on my first trip to New York -- it was just last summer. He was there on business for the Latin Alternative Music Conference. So I spent the whole week wandering around the city by myself. We had spent the previous week in Montana so it was a huge contrast -- a big sky vs. a big skyline. I got happily lost about 10 times a day and found amazing food, stores, and people watching whenever I did. I'm sure I missed some of the important sites and I barely took advantage of any shopping. But I will always appreciate the home base of Grand Central Station, one particular Cuban sandwich, a great phone call in central park, stumbling upon a late night crew filming an episode of Lipstick Jungle, and sitting on the JFK runway for 3 hours.

When I was a sophomore in high school (a lifetime ago!)I entered a competition sponsored by a fraternal organization, the prize for which included a week-long study at the United Nations with high school students from throughout the US and Canada. I was immediately hooked by the energy of the city, the lights at Times Square, the joy of attending a Broadway show and purchasing a frock at Saks Fifth Ave. My home, however, remains in beautiful WA state. Your giveaway is so very generous and a fun mix of goodies. Maybe I'll be lucky twice and can win this fabulous prize!

I've never been to NYC before :( The first place I would visit is the Statue of Liberty of course! Central Park would be next on the list, American Girl Place would warrent a visit too!

I was in New York for one day a few years ago. We spent most of the day at the Statue of Liberty (I cried the whole time...what a moving experience). My Mom wanted to see Central Park, so we tried. Can you believe we never did find the entrance. Just kept driving around and around one-way streets that according to the map should have led us there. What a great place though...some day I'd like to spend more time there.

Hi,

LOVE all of the goodies!
I think I would really enjoy seeing a Broadway show...someday for sure.
Thanks so much for sharing your trip.

Wow - the trimmings store and paperie? Sounds fabulous! I've never been to NY, but my first stop would definitely be Tinsel Trading Co.!

What a fun trip! Thanks for thinking of those that couldn't go - how sweet! You are offering a lovely giveaway:) Thank you!

Hey Serena and Teri ~ I have never been to NY ~ probably never will have the opportunity. However, if I did, I would definitely want to go to the Museum of Modern Art to see Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night painting!

OOOHHH M&J Trimmings looks like the best store in the world!!! I'd love to be entered in the awesome giveaway.

YES YES YES we went to New York in the Fall of 2007. I loved finding the Garden in Central Park where the last scene from 'You've Got Mail' was filmed, The Jerry Seinfeld 'Restaurant', the Fudge at Roxie's, the Broadway musicals. But one of my sweetest memories was how my son told us to go over to TGIF at a certain time and wave at him on the EarthCam just ouside the entrance. We were all jumping up and down and waving (presumably at nothing, by the crowd watching) but my son was watching on his computer. : )

I've been to New York only once, with all seven (at the time) of my children and we loved that no one even noticed our large family. We'd just left Vermont where we felt like we lived in a fishbowl (and we love Vermont too) so New York was a welcome change. My favorite was St. Patricks Cathedral and visiting my cousin!

That looks like you had fun! I've never been to New York.

What's not to love about NYC? The hustle, the bustle, the buildings, the offerings, the food, the culture. It's all so exciting for a country gal! Thanks for bringing a bit of the city home

i have never been to "the city", but ohhh how i would love to go. i really want to see the statue ( on my bucket list) and the garment district, rockefeller ctr, broadway- and on and on and on. thanks for bringing back a little bit of the city for us to enjoy. terry
