Serena, he sounds like an amazing man, and most of all because he doesn't let any of his other activities take away from the family. What a wonderful family you have.

My hubby is a triathlete too and he has been very aware of not cutting into family time. I believe you and I are a couple of fortunate Ironman wives to have hubbies who make us their priority! How's the swimming going?! :)

Wow! How inspirational. My husband is also athletic, gettiing up at 4am to work out before work in the morning. I too was over weight and recently lost 120 pounds with the help of gastric bypass. My husband is and always has been supportive of me as well. He has known me since we were 15 and I was a cheerleader (sigh). Men like this are rare. God bless your family,
Angie

Thank you for sharing bits of your life. I have been a fan of The Farm Chicks since moving here from So. Cal. six years ago. Sometimes leaving a place where you have lived all you life can be can lead to some lonely days but most of all, it has been a great adventure! Reading your blogs has made me feel as if this has been home all along!

wow...those iron man competitions are tough! My husband had done 5 marathons and his brothers have done both as well as nieces and nephews. I could never do it, it kills me just to watch them come in, really tough! You have a very beautiful family!!! Come say hi :D

That's awesome! congratulations on even having the desire to compete!!! My husband is very active, although not to the extreme that Colin is. He too, exercises early, before work so that it doesn't take time away from home. I wish you all the best and will be looking for updates!!!!
by the way, I love your new property and am so excited for you! Can't wait to see your design. It's fun to see your dreams come true!!

You are a blessed woman!! So how did both of you end up at Ilisagvik College? Did either of you live in Alaska before that?

What an inspirational story!! Thank you for sharing it with us!!

hi serena! I LOVED this article. I'm competing in my first 1/2 marathon on the 29th. My husband has been completely supportive. I know it's nothing compared to your husband's achievements but it's big for me. You sound like you have such a lovely family!

My goodies arrived the very next day! They're even cuter in person! Thank you! And thank you for the sticker!

Thank you for sharing this with your fans! Your blog inspires me all the time. It is a rare treat to get a glimpse of your hubby and kids.

What a lovely family...and your Hubbs won! Isn't that fabulous...

Warm blessings,
Spencer

you run nearly as much as he does ;)

what a blessing to have a family that puts each other first! keep up the neat posts...

Thank you so much for sharing the article! Your family is beautiful!

I so enjoyed reading this! My husband is competing in his first Ironman competition this summer in New Hampshire. I am so proud of him and cannot even imagine doing something so challenging. I will be there to cheer him on...I can manage that!!

Thanks for sharing, Serena. I have a husband who puts his family first, too, and I know how blessed I am.

Cheers,
Linda

This is so inspirational! I just started working out on a regular basis, over two months ago, and I love it.

My immediate family started a 'Fitness Challenge'. Five of us are still in it. (I think it started with around ten of us). I need that accountability and I felt like I was ready for a life change. I've always walked but I hadn't been so good about anything else.

I love the family photo. Reminds me, we need more of those around here! :)
