Hello!
Now that the new year is almost upon us, I bet you've been thinking about doing more reading, haven't you?
And what a good resolution.
I love books so much and am really grateful to have been exposed to them from an early age. I think my parents did such a good job making sure we read, and although we didn't have much, the books took me to places I never could have gone otherwise. What a treat!
So I've been thinking, I'd like to spread my love of books on to you. And every so often, I'll be sharing my favorites with you here.
Recently, I received Maman's Homesick Pie from Algonquin Books.
And it's my official first book pick.
I enjoyed this book because I love to cook, and it took me into the Bijan family kitchen. But more importantly, it took me on a journey of a mom so full of love for her children, that it inspired me immensely and reminded me what a gift and a privilege it is to be a parent.
A note about my book picks:
I will be writing about books I love periodically. Occasionally, I receive promotional copies of books from publishers, but mostly, books I find and enjoy don't just fall into my lap like that. (Wouldn't that be the BEST?!)
I'll only write about the books I enjoy, regardless of the source.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I was not paid to write about this book.
Maman's Homesick Pie was written by Donia Bijan.
