I have a serious weakness for old letters. And I have a lot of them. Mostly from old signs or advertising. But I've always wanted a set of old plaster letters - the type that poke into a bulletin board.
I was so excited to find an old set at an estate sale while junking with the boys last weekend. And, it was only five dollars! It's still in it's original box, which I love!
I'm scrubbing, cleaning and painting inside my house this weekend, but will make sure to set aside some time to put these letters to use. And I'll make sure to show you when I'm done. Everything's better with letters!
My girl friend and I found a set of these letters at a garage sale a couple of years ago and had no idea what we were going to do with them, but spent the 5$ and we split the box. I would love to find some more as there are a few letters missing. I use them in my vintage printer box for each holiday and occasion. Right now it says "Waiting for Baby" There are pictures of it on my blog a few days ago!

I have some just like these, so I'd love to see what you're going to do with them. My dad gave them to me. He used to use them for opening titles and dates on the home movies he made when we were kids. You're so creative, so let use see some of your great ideas :-)
Blessings,
Marcia

I hate to admit it, but I am envious of you! I am also a letter-lover, but I have never found any like those, nor do I think I could get them for only $5 if I ever did find them! Still, I am happy for you and I look forward to seeing what you do with them!

WOW! That is a pretty special find. I once found old scrabble letters at the thrift store in their orginal box, back when they were black and cream!!

OH! Fun, fun, fun! The company on the box, Demco, is still a going concern. My librarian friend gave me a discarded catalog once when I was looking for a certain kind of tape. I was amazed at all the cool supplies I never even thought about before. In the least, you'd probably enjoy the labels section!

I love letters too. I found a box in an old sewing wearhouse, not as nice as yours, but still pretty cool. I haven't come up with any fun ideas for them yet. I look forward to seeing what you do with yours.

Cool and very interesting. Demco..still in business (although the location we order from is in the mid-west). As a library person I just love anything to do with words, books, letters, reading...As the list goes on. Can't wait to see what you do with them.
