I cleaned out my pantry and while I was at it, added some Christmas cheer.
My shelves are covered in a fun gingham contac-type paper, which makes them completely wipeable, if need be. Bulk items are kept in pretty glass jars. I tucked in cute little Christmas trees here and there.
For holiday cheer, I added Christmasey paper to the shelves, by adhering it with double-stick tape. I scalloped the edges of the paper on some of the shelves. To easily make scalloped edges, simply trace the edge of a tiny glass and cut.
Sprinkles look cute in re-cycled tiny jam jars and placed in a bright pan for easy access and tote-ability for Christmas baking.
Special Christmas treats are colorful and are a happy surprise to find in the pantry.
It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas....
Gingham shelf paper and glass jars with red lids are from Daiso.
Holiday paper used for shelf edging is from Martha Stewart Crafts at Michaels.
The bright green cake pan is from William Sonoma.
Clear glass pantry jars are from Target.
Cupcake liners are from Bake it Pretty.

Well, heck. That makes my pathetic little pantry look like something from a Dicken's novel. I am going in right now and giving mine a good cleaning and a little holiday dressing. Well, maybe tomorrow. ;)

I agree -- your pantry is beautiful, clever, and inspiring!! Thanks for sharing it!
I have a question: What is a good way to categorize items in the pantry? I see that you have certain things grouped together. I can't figure out a good way to do that. Any helpful hints?? Thanks!!

OMG, I love your pantry! I have plans for ours but when I am done I know it wont look as good as yours. Contact paper is a great idea as things always seem to spill, leak, or are sticky for some reason or another, tehe. Blessings

Very pretty!

I'm sure there's a long line of people wanting to know if you make house calls. I'm willing to camp out in my folding chair with a thermos of coffee while I wait.
Crazy beautiful, Serena... turning utilitarian into cuteitarian! (that sounded better in my head).

Hi Lisa,
You asked how long my pantry would stay tidy? It stays really neat for a month or two and then needs some sprucing up. I do a good thorough cleaning a few times a year. My youngest son, Bongo, also likes to give it a little tidying up once in a while too!
Hugs,
Serena

Maryann, you asked about tips on organizing a pantry. I like to keep cereal and crackers down low, so they're easy for the kids to reach.
I keep baking supplies together in one area, in jars. Oils and vinegars on another shelf, alongside pastas. Canned goods all together. Less often used items like batteries, extra paper towels, and empty jars are kept on the upper shelves.
Basically, it's just sorted in a way that makes sense for me and my family's needs.
Happy organizing!
Serena :)

I love it! I was wondering if your shelves are solid or wire. I have all wire shelves and didn't know if the contact paper would work. Thank you for your time. I am going to be out looking for red jars like yours.

This is beautifully done, Serena. My wife decorated our pantry last Holiday using your ideas. She used recycled items we bought from a local store. Our drinking glasses cupboard was filled with red and white sprinkles.
