My love of clouds began as a little girl. Since my childhood was so quiet and free of television, electricity, and electronics, I spent a lot of time outdoors. And one of my favorite activities was to watch the clouds roll by and compare each to the shapes of everyday things, like a car, a cat, and so on.
Our cabin in the woods had an enormous window that looked out onto Mt. Shasta, where the clouds would gather and swirl around the mountain like cotton candy. And my mom was always so fascinated by each one, calling them spaceships, as if Mt. Shasta were a planet they orbited. It was all very fairy tale-like for a little girl. Me.
It's nearly spring here in the amazing Pacific Northwest, which means the clouds are more beautiful now than any other time of the year. And our puffy magical clouds inspire me. I'll be sharing some cloud-inspired posts here soon.

I love clouds, too! Watching clouds was one of my favorite things to do as a girl and still is now that I'm the mommy. My kids love it too.

that video was adorable! I think every adult has fond memories of laying on the ground and making up "cloud stories".

That quite possibly was the cutest thing I have ever seen. :)
When I was young, on those hot summer days with no air conditioning, mom and I would go outside in the shade and lay on a blanket and watch the clouds. She was the master of finding shapes they made. :) Thanks for sharing your memory, and making me remember mine.
Hugs,
Teresa

I love that short, but had forgotten about it. I think it was what the movie theater showed right before the movie "Up." Thanks for such a sweet post to start the week.

What a wonderful video!!
Growing up in Spokane, watching clouds was a fun summer activity! Still, every time I come over, I often pull off to the side of the road, near a wheat field...somewhere between Waterville and Davenport...and just stare at the vastness of the sky, and how one cloud can bring shade to such a large surface! So beautiful! And just a reminder of God's amazing creation!
Blessins!

So funny that you would post about clouds!Yesterday my husband and I were driving down the freeway and I was looking out the window and I said, "Aren't clouds cool?" he agreed. When I see fluffy, beautiful clouds I always try to remember the moment and I think: I never want to die because then I would never get to see something as beautiful as this again.

oooohhhhhhhh......gorgeous clouds! I share your love of clouds too! I fell in love with Mount Shasta and the "cloudships" like your Mom! I have a postcard of Mount Shasta and a cloudship on my inspiration board.
Hope you had a wonderful start to National Craft month!

I love the awesome "pancake" clouds we get here in Reno and the soft alpenglow clouds in the morning. An especially flamboyant cloudy sunset will bring the whole neighborhood out to enjoy it together

As a fellow Spokanite, I share your joy. Today felt like spring, didn't it? A friend and I walked around manito park today looking for the beginnings of flowers in the gardens. Some of them will be peeking out very soon, I think!

I too have a love affair with those Cumulus fluff balls. Next time you're in a book store (I recommend Auntie's) look for "The Cloud Collectors Handbook" by Gavin Pretor-Pinney. A must have for a fellow lover of clouds.

Just have to tell you how wonderful it would be to have red or pink "Farm Chicks'" T-shirts with your logo or the adorable cake! Summers coming and I would love to proudly grace my summer flea markets and antiquing in one! Think it could happen???? Lori P.S. I 'm sure many would agree!!

Just moved to Moses Lake, WA this August from Dallas, Texas. I love the clouds here. They just seem closer and grander somehow than the ones in Texas. My daughter, who moved her with me with her family, thinks I am nuts but I swear it is true. It's like you could somehow reach out and touch them.
