This time of year is my fresh start. When I try to focus on what I've been doing, how I've been doing it, and think about how I can be better. A better parent, better organizer, and so on.
Phew! Being a mom is one of the most difficult jobs in the world, and of course, the most rewarding. And I do stop and think OFTEN about what a blessing my family is. I feel like this is what I was meant to be and I want to try and be the best I can. Because I think a happy family is the key to a happy life.
And even though I'm not into New Year's resolutions, this time of year is sort of just that for me. But sometimes, life can prove challenging. Like yesterday.
Get Micah off to school.
Take Bongo and Lukie to school.
Meet cabinet maker at the building site.
Meet electrician at the building site.
Meet cabinet maker at my house.
Zip to The Farm Chicks store.
Mad-rush back to pick up Bongo and Lukie.
Take Micah to guitar lessons.
Get house ready for a last-minute house showing.
Attend open house at school.
Prepare dinner.
Go over homework and complete new year forms.
Good night.
eek.
And today it all starts again.
Last night, I told Colin that I think I'm becoming a better parent. And I think year after year, I start to feel more and more like I know what I'm doing.
At least I'm doing the very best that I can.
And that makes me happy.

It's comforting to read my day in print. Sometimes when I am meeting myself coming and going, I wonder if I got anything done...and it's nice to know I am not alone in this mad dash parenting.

I'm sure you're an awesome MOM! Moms are just the busiest people on earth and we are because we can handle it! Right?!

ACK! I'm tired just reading that!
The student forms I truly detest. You'd really think by now that they'd come up with a way to automate it. Can you imagine the poor person stuck doing data processing?

Oh it is one of the most rewarding jobs. That's why I go by the name of blessedmom :-)

It seems like you get to be a better and better parent as your kids grow up--you as the mom figure stuff out. Then when you think you are somewhat capable, they grow up and move out!
