It's been a while since our house has seen the light of day. Even though the sun came out of hibernation yesterday.
Poor thing. All wrapped up while the final coats of paint go on.
I want to run through the house, ripping off the plastic as I go. I want to let that sun come pouring in and hear the boys racing up and down the stairs.
But for now, this is the way it is. And somehow, I've managed to keep them from sticking themselves to the wet paint. Victory!

Those newel posts look exactly like the ones in my first house in Pennsylvania- a hundred year old Victorian. Your house is going to be gorgeous! I love the old character you are instilling into a brand new house....

My hubby and I just tore off the plastic in our house from the painters...it felt like running thru the finish line tape! The sun streaming thru the windows and not plastic and tape is such a thrilling experience....so excited for you :)

It is going to be beautiful! We too are building a house and just in the last week, they took all the plastic of the wood work. LOVE it! It is soooooo exciting. Anxious to see yours done.

There is a local magazine that showcases a house in the area. I think yours should be in there. Your house is different from the houses that they generally showcase. Time to showcase something other than earth-tones, granite, and stone. Love, love, love your new home.

Can't wait to see what your house would look like when you rip off the plastic sheets. I bet it would look wonderful! You just have to wait for a while and in no time the sunlight could enter your home again.
