I'd like for you to meet my old friends, Peanut Butter and Chocolate. They sure go well together. This recipe, given to me by a good friend, is a favorite after school treat for the boys.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter (2 cubes, at room temperature)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 1 cup chunky peanut butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup oats
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Add butter, sugars, and peanut butter into a large mixing bowl and beat until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until fluffy. Add in flour, oats, baking soda, and salt and beat until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Spread dough evenly into a large rimmed baking sheet (also known as a jelly roll pan). Bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly brown and puffed all over. Remove from oven and cool until warm. | |
Slice into bars and serve warm or at room temperature, with an ice-cold glass of milk. |
Note
For a delicious dessert treat, top warm bars with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle with warm chocolate sauce.

These look like a chocolate chip bar my mother used to make during the holidays (Yummy Chocolate Chip Bars). The chips sunk to the bottom making a chocolately base.
I'll have to give this recipe a try, but will have to omit some of the sugar for us (we cut the sugar in most recipes we make).
Thanks for sharing. :-)

I take notice when you post a recipe because you changed my curry life when you recommend mae ploy curry paste. Seriously awesome! I was one of those trying every kind of curry and always ended up disappointed. Not anymore. Thanks! I can't wait to try these pb chocolate bars.

Looks great, and I will try to adapt it to be dairy free and gluten free. But not sugar free, I need some reason to eat them! Wondering if the great shots are at your new house! Background looks as good as the subject!

The revel bars looks delightfully yummy! I love how abundant the amount of chocolate chips are in it. And yes, I do think that it would go great with a cold glass of milk.
