Today I'd like to introduce you to The Funky Junk girls, Jennifer and Hollie.
My history with Jen and Hollie goes way back to the early days of The Farm Chicks Show. They were vendors, located next to each other in the big tent of Fairfield's city park. Over the years, they became friends, and when The Farm Chicks show went on a one year hiatus, they decided to start their own event: Funky Junk.
Their event is held twice a year - the spring location is just outside of Spokane and the fall location is held in Sandpoint, Idaho, and is now host to 30 vendors.
When they're not working on their Funky Junk Show, Jennifer is hard at work tending the crops on her berry farm, making soap, and being a mom, while Hollie stays busy as the mom of 3 very active boys. And I'm happy to say The Funky Junk girls still participate in The Farm Chicks Show each year.
The Funky Junk Show is coming up this weekend in Sandpoint, Idaho and I'll be sure to be there, to support the girls and their dream. Will I see you there too?

I love them too! And I love seeing my pictures on your blog. So cool! Can't wait for this weekend. It's going to be great! I don't get to hang out much on Saturday, but only because my hubby bought a night at a lookout at a benefit dinner. It's going to be such a fun weekend all the way around!

I would love to do that...but hence too far away....:( story of my life.
But I will tell my sister about it she lives in Idaho.
A couple of my friends and I just couldn't stand everyone else having all the fun....so we planned a spring Event....nothing like yours or these ladies event....but it helps us to not feel so left out, and we have tons of fun doing it.... =)
You are so kind to help these ladies...I can tell by reading your blog that you are a very sweet person. The world need more people like you.
Thanks for sharing
Happy Day.

Wow! entrance fee only $2.00. Here in puyallup the funky junkysisters is $15.00! Just to walk in. I have had many friends tell me they won't go because of the price. When I first went it was only $5.00 in less than a year it went up to $15.00. I wish they would lower it so my friends could see WHY I go!!!I would have a bunch of people go if they only lower the entrance fee!

I won't be there, but I'm heading to the Kane County Flea Market. I'm sure it doesn't even compare to this show or yours, but it's what is close by.

Ahhhhhhhh-thank you, thank you. Those 2 girls work so hard for the people who attend their shows-their main focus is on those coming to the show-sharing the love of junk :-)
And this Funky Junk Mom loves those 2 girls and Serena too!

I will definitely be there! In these tough economic times, it's great for you to maintain such a low entry fee.

I just love Jennifer and Hollie!! I got to know them in the last couple of years by being a vendor at their show and they are truly wonderful people. This Labor Day weekend just won't be the same since I can't be part of the show :( I will be thinking of them from North Carolina...I miss them! Serena, thanks for spotlighting them and the show. You couldn't have picked a better pair of women!

I had the pleasure of getting to know these two at the last Farm Chicks show and they are the sweetest, most genuine gals I have ever met! I won't be able to make the show but wish them much success!
