Hello! Welcome to Pumpkin Week! This week I'll be sharing pumpkin inspiration with you. Decorating, celebrating, and baking. It'll be fun!
Today let me tell you about this cute little pumpkin - the miniest of them all.
Isn't it adorable?
It's actually not a pumpkin at all, but a cute little seed pod called a Putka Pod.
These little pumpkin look-a-likes have so many decorative uses around the home - today I'll show you two ways.
Our Realtor, Jack, stopped by to see our new house and brought me some beautiful fall mums. So I took out a little galvanized tub, some fabric, and putka pods to make a happy fall arrangement.
1.) I removed the wrapping from the mums, saving the elastic band.
2.) I re-wrapped the mum with fabric and attached it with the elastic string I had saved.
3.) I placed the plant in the tub and surrounded it with the pods. They just add that extra bit of Autumn cheer.
Now, how about some tea? Tea to celebrate the season. How should we serve it to our guests?
Let's start with this great little wooden box:
Line with Putka Pods, and fill with tea bags, spoons, and sugar:
So simple and festive.
Tips:
Putka Pods can be found in craft stores like Michaels and Hobby Lobby, or online.
The pods are pretty delicate. They can last for several seasons, if handled with care. Once you're done with them for the season, seal in a ziploc bag or sealed container. Keep away from an area where there may be mice, as mice love seeds and pods.

I've never heard of those. I see many decorating possibilities with them. Thanks for sharing.
Have a lovely day.

I've been seeing Putka pods at Michaels for years, and always thought they were manmade! They are also in my autumn potpourri from Target. I'm much happier about them, now that I know they are natural seed pods. Fairy pumpkins indeed!
Looking forward to the rest of this week's pumpkin posts.

I LOVE putka pods!!! Been using them for fall decorating for years. Even add cinnamon stix, fake candy corn and other fun fall things to it to fall it up a bit!
Happy pumpkin week!

A woman I know uses these in her Fall potpourri that she sells in her shop. They are so cute. The pot pourri that she sells has the best pumpkin spice type smell. It doesn't smell fake. It smells like someone is actually baking.

This is totally off the pod subject, but my fiance's dad found a crate like that for me (it was a Whitney Farms strawberry crate, I guess). I took it and hung it on the wall and it became my spice rack. So nice to see different uses for those!

I used to have a ton of these! I would mix them with dried rose hips and soak them in esential oils so they smell so wonderful and last forever! They're cute around a big pillar candle in either a hurricane vase or a dish. I need to get more, I've missed them!

I love these. I've seen my sister's use these in large vases - with a candle in the center. Love them! The idea for the tea is fantastic! Thanks..

I have some of these in a mason jar on my counter. I've had two different people ask me what they were. I didn't know exactly, just that they were a seed pod that looked like a mini pumpkin. Now I know!

Holy cuteness, Batman!! I can hardly believe how adorable these are!! There's a trip to Michael's in my future, especially since I just learned that DMC makes a glow in the dark embroidery thread. Fun ahoy!!
