Part of the sweetness of Christmastime for me is making my everyday spaces festive. The places I spend a lot of time and where some may find drudgery. Like the laundry room, pantry, and my kitchen.
My spice drawer sits nestled in the island of my kitchen, amid many other drawers that make up what I call my Baking Center.
Recently, I relabelled all of my spice jars and alphabetized them, which surprisingly I'd never done until now. Let me tell you, I love being able to find the spices I want quickly.
And I added in a variety of holiday sprinkles too. Now they're easily accessed right where we're doing all of our baking. But most importantly, they make me very happy every time I open the drawer. Merry Christmas!, they seem to sing.

I think I'd find my little helpers thinking spoons were there for them to just eat the sprinkles straight! ;)
It looks great.
I don't have mine alphabetized, but I have the shelves separated by types--cooking herbs & spices vs. baking spices. Maybe I'll get them done someday.

I need an answer to my spice cupboard - this may be it. Just have to empty the drawer :). Thank you!

How long can you keep spices?

Haha Kimberly! My husband would definitely consider those spoons an invitation!
I have my spices in a drawer as well, in 1/2 pint jars with white lids. Not alphabetized, but I have my faves near the front of the drawer.
Love your labels, Serena!

Those are beautiful!! I love that they look so pretty, and are simple too :) Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas!!
I just posted a video of Jordan on my very-infrequently-udated blog. It's short, but tells of the wonderful organization, Homes For Our Troops, and the gift of new homes they are providing for severely injured veterans. I thought you'd enjoy it Serena.
Blessings to you and your family,
Marcia

Your spice drawer looks so fun! I think I would want to be peeking inside it even when I wasn't baking. My daughters are always telling me I need to alphabetize my spices .... I think I just might try and make them cute at the same time :-)

So I have to tell you.. I have been following your blog for some time, not sure how I found it, but so glad I did. I love anything crafty, polka dotty , hand made.... Any how, we are stationed in England with the Air Force and I had started my own painted furniture business called shabby chich antiques , I love to go to auctions and junk shops and make junk in to treasures, well my skin is crawling with excitement when I came acrossed on your web site of your annual show in Spokane! We just got orders to move to Fairchild AFB there in Washington ! We won't be there until August but for sure will be there for the next year ! I am from Redding California so I am thrilled to be on the west coast again after 19 years traveling with the Air Force, and my husband is from Massachusetts so he has never seen the west coast. Any how enough blabbing , just had to tell you how excited I am !

I think I will try something like this except have each jar in their own cubby hole so when you do take one out you know where to put it back I have to be creative because my mom has macular degeneration and it's hard for her to see. Whatever I do I will send you a picture!

I really enjoy your blog. I moved away from Fairchild AFB last year and am homesick for the area. Green Bluff was absolutely wonderful so it's so great to see your photos of the area. Your plates are so pretty. Do you know what brand or pattern they are? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Hi Melanie,
Are you referring to the plates in the Quinoa recipe? If so, they are from Target, purchased there about six to seven years ago.
Hugs,
Serena
