Once the holidays are over, I'm left with a bit of trash. But rather than throwing it all out, I've found a few alternate uses that apply to leftover packaging throughout the year.
Wrapping paper tubes are great for rolling table runners and tablecloths around. Rolling the cloths around the tubes prevents the creases caused by folding. The next time you need to use them, simply unroll and they're crease free! You can also wrap string lights around the tubes so they don't become a jumbled mess.
Leftover holiday packaging like these Tower of Treat boxes from Harry & David are great for sorting and storing ornament collections of varying colors and sizes, as well as holiday hangers, and various other essentials. They're useful and decorative at the same time. They also make handy craft supply storage vessels.
Rather than throwing out colorful tissue and wrapping paper, run it through your shredder for gift bag filler. I
Snipped ribbon makes great confetti and who doesn't need a stash of confetti on hand at all times?!
Do you re-use any of your holiday packaging?
Love the gift wrap shredding idea! Perfect. Have a wonderful day

I have recycled the same gift tags for so many years they have, unintentionally, become a tradition. My grown up girls are disappointed if they don't see a package with a tag from their childhood. The new tags I use on some of the gifts feel almost rootless. I also repurpose salvaged bits and bobs to make my own tags: broken watch faces, scrabble tiles, wine foil tops, buttons, old Christmas cards etc.

So special and I'm glad your girls enjoy this tradition. I bet they will carry it on with their families.

I love your ideas! I'm definitely going to use my wrapping paper tubes next year for my linens. I think it will make storing them easier too, like rolling up your clothes in your suitcase when traveling. Well, it's time for me to make hotel reservations for your show. So, I'm going to look at your least of recommendations and see what kind of deal I can get. Have a great day!
