Last week I was talking about some dietary changes I've made and wanted to share a few favorite food items that I've discovered along the way.
Edward & Sons Garden Veggie Broth:
I disliked all store-bought vegetable broths until I found these bouillon cubes. They have great flavor and no garbage ingredients. I buy mine from my local grocery store, but it's also readily available online.
Spices! It's amazing what a difference some good flavors can add to a dish, Lately, I've really been enjoying Za'atar, which is a blend of Middle Eastern spices and sesame seeds. There are countless variations, all unique in their own way. I enjoy sprinkling the spice blend on grilled pita bread that's been drizzled with olive oil or on eggs, hummus, and green salad. I look forward to discovering other dishes it pairs well with. I've only found the blend in special markets, but it's also readily available online.
Sodastream. I can't get enough of fizzy water and these little machines can churn it out. Each unit requires a special CO2 cartridge to operate. (A cartridge comes with the machine). When the cartridge runs out, you can order a new one, or, exchange it at WalMart for a bargain price.
It's a really nice way to help get your water intake up, save a bunch of packaging, and quench your thirst. For a spritzer, add a splash of pure fruit juice to a glass of sparkling water.
Dark Chocolate Honey Mints: If I'm ever looking for a sweet, these candies mints from Trader Joes are a great choice. They contain only three ingredients (honey, chocolate liquor, and peppermint oil) and just a few are all it takes to satisfy a sweet tooth.
